Hello Toppers, How about that game last night, now that’s a comeback. NCAA March Madness is not the only tournament with some real talent. The regional basketball tournament at MTSU will be going on this weekend and WKU is sending One Men’s team (WKU Hilltoppers) and One Women’s team (WKU Goon Squad) to compete against other schools in the region. I feel the teams going will have a solid showing and maybe even a championship to bring back here to Bowling Green. I will also be at the tournament with a live blog/twitter update on our teams.
Now back to our Intramural games here at WKU.
COREC: The top teams here are stacked with true talent and great fast-break ability.
Americas Team (This team filled with seasoned vets are posting a 3-0 record in which I expect them to win their 4th game. With a scoring margin of 12 points a game along with the outstanding play of Tim Henderson shows that this team will be a tough team to match-up against.)
Tune Squad (With the Tune Squad’s lock down defense and a 4-0 record it is not a team I would want to play. With Kayla Jones dribble drive ability most of their points will come from the paint.)
WKU All Stars (I feel the All Stars are the best team in the Co-Rec pool. This team has a 3-0 recorded and has mercy ruled every team they have played. And with the Ex-bulldog, Tyler Bruce, this team will fear no one in the playoffs)
Mens Division I
Trill ENT (Thomas Harris has Trill ENT playing with a lot of intensity. Rumor has it that Thomas was in Hot Springs last week for the Sun-Belt Championship getting pointers from Hilltopper great David Boyden.)
The Avengers (With a 3-o record and the leading assist man in their division Tyler Jenkins makes The Avengers a points machine)
SLEEPER TEAM The Pandas (No kung fu going on here just a tenacious zone defense)
Goon Squad (This team is the bast I have seen all year and I expect them to take the ship)
Too Legit (With enough swag for the whole league this team will come ready to play)
SLEEPER TEAM: Volleyball Team
Both Sigma Chi teams are at the top of my list with both FIJI teams. There will be some inter-fraternity vetting going on here so hopefully both sides can handle the tough match-ups they could possibly have with their brothers.
Mens Division II
This league is wide open and it is tough to call.
Team Yolo ( Lot of home grown players from this area on this team so home-court is an advantage to say the least)
Tropic Thunder ( Levi Hardin leading the team has kept the Tropic Thunder on a wining streak and will continue it through the playoffs)
THIS YEAR WE HAVE ADDED A WILD CARD SPOT TO STEP UP THE COMPETITION IN EACH LEAGUE. THE LEAGUES THAT WILL HAVE WILD CARD SPORTS ARE DIVISION II, COREC AND FRATERNITY AND THOSE SPOTS WILL GO TO THE TEAMS WITH THE BEST OVERALL RECORD WHO DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY MAKE THE PLAYOFFS.
Tomorrow we will have the PODCAST and during the playoffs we will have a live BLOG and TWITTER updates during the games so make sure you add us on TWITTER and check out the blog.
